Can you choose which fields are sent in a JIRA notification?

Question

I am specifically looking at notification for creation of issues. By default, the following fields are sent:

* Summary
* Issue Type
* Assignee
* Created Date
* Priority
* Reporter
* Description

I have configured other fields (some are custom) that are required and I would like to be sent in this notification email.

Custom events can be added based on workflow transitions not custom fields.
