How can I, as a PMO lead, have a calendar view of the projects by PM or assignee?

I am trying to do some capacity management w/o paying for a plug in. I was hoping to do this by seeing what my PM's are working on and determining their usage according to how many concurrent projects they are assigned to.

Yes that's what I am thinking too:

* Create a JQL query
* If you have a group for the PMs you can create a filter using memberof("group name")
* Create a Dashboard may be with the name PMs Dashboard, and then have a gadget for each member of the PM group so that you can see their issues.

I am currently exploring an option where I assign each project to a filtered board and then use those filters to create an overall view. Is that where you are leaning?
