to make admin have a membership of system-administrators.

Question

Hello,

I've moved data from Confluence Cloud to self-host Confluence.

Once I've moved data to Self host Confluence, I found that the server doesn't have admin password. I've ended up running SQL statement to Postgres to give admin account new password.  Google Search told me that this is because Confluence Cloud saves password into separate places, so you export data from Confluence Cloud, actually you might loose your password... That's pain, but I managed to get it over..

However my admin account does not have the following group memberships.

* confluence-administrators
* system-administrators

even if I click two checkboxes, there seemingly is no way to select them.

Please look at the following to see  error messages.

Question is:

Could you provide me  some SQL statement to provide  admin account with  two groups membership ?

Hello there Sangwook, thanks for getting back to us.

According to the documentation here:

* Restore Passwords To Recover Admin User Rights

What we need to do is Activate The Temporary Admin User. With this temporary user we can then grant the user membership to your affected user.

In older versions of Confluence the solution was indeed to change database values. However, since we do not encourage direct database manipulation, we now have the option to activate the temporary admin and with this user apply the necessary changes.
