How to hide REQUIRED fields of Transition Screen on the View Screen during CREATE

I have a transition screen between the statuses "Review Complete" and "Done" with some custom fields having values of YES or NO.

The custom fields are REQUIRED FIELDS and the default is set to NO.

I want the fields to be visible on the View screen only after the transition is completed. However they seem to appear as soon as the issue is created.

When I make the custom fields OPTIONAL without any default values, this issue is resolved. But I do want the fields to be MANDATORY.

Any suggestions.

Hi @Pangeel Shubha ,

If you give a default value, fields will be shown in view screen as soon as issue is created.

So, don't give default value and make the fields required in "Review Complete" to"Done" transition by adding a "fields required" validator. So that, they will be filled in that transition and will be visible after issue resolved. But you may need a plugin such as JSU.

Thank you. We do have the Misc Workflow Extensions and I can add a validator. Shame, I did not think about that.

I do not want the None option to appear though , that the reason why i made it Required in the first place.

Customfields are shown in the issue view only if they have value. So, fields with none (null) values will not be visible until issue is resolved.

Another solution can be found in the plugin ProForma. It features form automation tools in which new forms are presented to the user when the issue is transitioned. It can also be configured so that users MUST complete a form before the issue is allowed to be transisitoned if you so desire.
