Unable to upload doc / pdf files

Hi,

I am using Confluence server

when i am trying to upload doc / pdf file i am getting the following error:  

and in the Log file:

Welcome to Community! It's nice to meet you. I have just a few questions for you in order to help understand the situation.

Please let me know which method exactly you're attaching the document to the page. See Upload Files for details on the various methods, and let me know which one you're using. If you can test the other methods, please let me know if the same occurs no matter which method. 

• In the editor you can:
• Drag the file directly onto the page. 
• Go to Insert > Files and images and upload a file.
• When viewing a page you can:
• Drag the file directly onto the page.
• Go to  > Attachments and upload a file.

1. Does this occur with all Word documents and PDF files, or only specific ones? 
2. What version of Confluence server are you running?
