Confluence wont start after upgrade

Hi have upgraded the to version atlassian-confluence-6.15.3-x64, but unfortunately the web page doesn't appear to load and just times out.

I have the following logs catalina and gc-2019.4-.01_15.07.22.log.0.current below.

What would be the best method to troubleshoot.

i have the following message. i have started the confluence server. Any assistance offered would be appreciated

Confluence failed to establish a connection to your database.
This could be because:

Your database isn't running
The configuration of your confluence.cfg.xml file is incorrect (user, password, or database URL etc.)
There is a network issue between Confluence and your database (e.g. firewall, database doesn't allow remote access etc.)
