How to send space/page change notifications to mailing list

Question

Would like to be able to send notifications of space/page changes to a mailing list.

This seems to require adding a Watcher with the address of the list - it does not seem possible to add a watcher email that is not associated with a Confluence user.

Whilst it is possible to set up a dummy user with the list address, all mails for the dummy user would be sent to the list. AFAICT this would include password reset mails, which is not ideal.

Is there any way to set up a space to email changes (only) to a mailing list?

Thanks, but we want notifications to go to a mailing list. Given that page changes can already be emailed, it does not seem like it should be difficult to send to a mailing list.

Hi @S B  -

While I haven't come across a way to do exactly what you are asking, I have used a couple of marketplace apps that can accomplish something close:

* Notifications - ScripRunner for Confluence (free but requires you to have the parent app, ScriptRunner for Confluence) * Allows you to set notifications for a space (and possibly pages) to a list users or groups.  If you have a confluence group that closely relates to the email distribution list or have the ability to set one up, this may be a good option for you.

* Slack Integration for Confluence Server - (free)* Same idea here - If you are using Slack and have or can create a channel that matches the email distribution list, you can use this app to send space notifications to that channel.

Check out this search result from the Atlassian Marketplace to explore other options: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?product=confluence&query=notification
