Our confluence runs on a server.  Are there any macros or extensions that could be run with it that could give the apperance of a dark screen?

It might depend on the latitude your IT allows for you to add or change stuff, but....

We run Confluence on a server (recently went to Data Center). I use Chrome browser with Stylus extension, using "Midnight Surfing" global dark style. Looks like this:
