Breaking a service portal request into subtasks

Question

We're in the process of designing a service portal request type for access requests. We've built out a form with several systems listed that one can request access to. Each can be approved or denied, and by different parties (each system has an "owner" that approves access). We're thinking that we'd like to create a subtask for each system requested, and have that subtask approved and then worked. Has anyone implemented a solution like this that can offer any guidance, challenges, gotchas?

Thanks, Ravi. I'm comfortable creating subtasks using ScriptRunner, but I'm finding that those subtasks cannot have request types associated with them, and thus they cannot be presented in the customer portal. I don't care for the requesting user to see them (they need to see only the parent request), but they do need to be visible to the approvers, as they are not agents. This seems to be a roadblock in our plan.

Hi @Payne

You can use apps like Automation or ScriptRunner for Jira to auto create predefined sub-tasks. In those sub-tasks then use workflow to add an approvals.
