history of custom field usage

I have a custom field of type Checkbox, called Flagged that can get a value impediment.

I can of course search on this flagged field, as long as the value impediment is set.
when the impediment is solved we will remove the value by unchecking this field.
meaning there is no impediment any more.

Now i want to be able to search for all issues that have had an impediment sometime in the past, is this possible?

I know i can search for status historically e.g
Project = A and status was "Acceptance testing" BEFORE '2018-03-20'

But the question is there a way to solve this for custom fields?

Hello,

It is not possible for custom fields. You would need to develop your own JQL function

I am also trying to get something similar but couldn't get it to work.
