Listing Epics for stories being worked on by a specific project team

I am trying to execute a query that will list all the Epics of a particular fixVersion which have stories being worked on by a specific project team. I am able to find all the stories, but cannot list the parent epics.

I am trying to use issueType = Epic AND issueFunction in EpicsOf(SUBQUERY) but don't know how to use the SUBQUERY capability.

Here SUBQUERY formation must be relevant to the stories.

For instance, if you want to list the epics which have open stories and assigned to a specific user.

Example JQL: issueType = Epic AND issueFunction in EpicsOf("status = open and assignee=testuser")
