I am getting SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out ERROR, while configuring SMTP?

I am getting the following below error while configuring the SMTP and testing the connection.

Unfortunately no connection was possible. Review the errors below and rectify:

* SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

Can anyone please provide solution for this

Hello guys,

can't configuring the SMTP Mail Server for Jira  v 8.7.1 for localhost.
The same problem "SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out",  as @Ramanathan   encountered

* Which Atlassian product are you using?
* Has this worked at some point in the past?
* Was there any kind of change to the Application?
* Are you able to reach the email server through other means?
