Even though no value selected, Custom Fields are still appearing on the "View"

I have several custom fields set up wherein a selection can be made or not made. They are set to have 'no default selection' thus they are simply given the value of "None" by Jira. There is no "None" option in the list.

If a user does not select a value in the field, I would expect for them to simply not show up on the view. However they do, with the value of "None", even though that is not an actual value in the dropdown options.

How do I stop dropdown fields which have not been filled out from showing up on the issue view?

Hello Chel,

Your wish is the default Dropdown behavior. I mean Jira's Select custom field type works as you expected. 

If you define a select custom field (that comes with Jira installation) and add that field to the issue main view, it would only be visible if it has a value selected (except None).

But, some Marketplace apps may not obey this rule. You should raise a ticket to app's.
