I am currently using the Trello Beta, so not sure if there is some functionality that is being worked on. However, I'm trying to set a Due Date automation to mark a card as Incomplete on the date it is due. However, it does not seem to be working.
I am wondering if Trello maybe disregards cards that are already marked as complete when the due date hits (but then, why would there be a "mark as incomplete" option?). Is there maybe something I am missing?
Card completion is semi-connected to due dates, in the sense that you can mark a card complete even if it doesn't have a due date.
But, when a card with a due date is marked compete, it is connected to that due date, so the due date automation will not fire when it is marked as complete.
If I understand correctly, you're trying to create a recurring tasks system with the same card, please correct me if I'm wrong...
In practice, once the card is marked complete, the due date becomes irrelevant because the task is done before it is due.
I propose this automation example (this is for a weekly task)
The moment a card is marked complete in a card, move the due date by 1 week and mark the card incomplete
I see. And that makes more sense to me. I was hoping to prevent the card from resetting back to incomplete immediately after marking complete, but ultimately this serves our purposes. Thank you!
