I create a reminder card from my email. In the email subject line, using voice dictation, I say, “Remind me that today at 10 p.m. I need to send an email to Pedro with the following points…” The card is created perfectly by the AI. It includes the title, the due date, and the checklist.

But I can’t get it to add a reminder one hour beforehand, for example. Is there a way to do this without having to do it manually by going into the card?

What you're seeing lines up exactly with what the email path is documented to produce, which is the frustrating part: it isn't ignoring your instruction, it was only ever going to act on part of it.

The AI summary is documented to "summarize an email, extract due dates, create a relevant title, and put action items in a checklist", which is precisely what you are getting. A reminder is not in that list, and the word does not appear anywhere on that page.

The reason it's a separate thing rather than an oversight is that a Trello reminder isn't part of the due date. It's its own control sitting next to it: "Due date reminders are set in the same place as the due date. Select a time from the due date reminder dropdown to receive a reminder on or near the card's due date, or choose None if you don't want to be notified." And the sentence people miss: "You must set a due date reminder in order to receive a due date notification."

So a card can carry a flawless 10 p.m. deadline and stay completely silent. That's the gap you've hit.

Since you're dictating this from your phone anyway, the shortest path is the mobile one rather than opening the card on desktop. On iOS you add or edit the due date, then Set Reminder, then choose when. That's still a tap on the card, so it isn't the fully hands-off flow you were after, but it's a few seconds on the phone you're already holding.
