Create new card from template automation button

I'm aware there is the create card from template button at the bottom of lists, but it is small and I want to reduce (eliminate) the likelihood a new card is created that doesn't follow the template.

I'd like a Board Button to create the card from a template. There doesn't seem to be a 'from template' option in the automation to create a new card.

An alternative might be to add all the template description, checklist and labels, via a copy automation, but that seems cumbersome and unnecessary.

Side quest, if anyone knows how to limit where a card can be created from (i.e. list) that would be great too. Just want a specific board to follow a specific workflow for ISO 9001 Governance reasons

With the "create a new card" action, you should be able to set the card's description, checklist, member, and due date by clicking on the icons:

As for only allowing users to create cards in a certain list, while this exact functionality isn’t currently available in Trello, I have gone ahead and created a new feature suggestion for you with our product team which you can access here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/TRELLO-447.

I have also added this ticket as an internal comment to this report so that way our engineering team can reference to it and also use it to help align priority. I would also recommend you to visit that suggestion, log in with your Atlassian account, and click Start watching this issue on the right panel. Hey! I see some limitations where I have some attachments from the card template I want on my new card. It would be easier if there was an automation option to create a card from a template.

When you create a card from a card template, there should be an option to copy over attachments as well:
