Upcoming change: Rovo Dev CLI token limit policy update

Hi Community,

We want to let you know about an important update to the daily token limits for Rovo Dev CLI users, that we’re gradually rolling out this month.

What’s changing?

• If your site has a Standard, Premium, or Enterprise plan for Jira:
  Your daily token limit remains 20 million tokens with no change during the Beta period.

• All other users:
  Your first day of use will have 20 million tokens, but will change to 5 million tokens per day afterwards.

Note: This change only affects Rovo Dev CLI. Other agents (like Code Reviewer or coding agents) are not impacted.

Want to keep your current 20 million token limit?

Site admins can upgrade to a Standard, Premium, or Enterprise plan for Jira at any time. Please note that free trials are not eligible for the higher token limit.

Why are we making this change?

We’re making this update to ensure a high-quality experience for all users and to support the continued growth of the Rovo Dev CLI community.

Disappointing to hear this.   5m tokens a day is barely enough for a full hours agentic coding. 

Lack of transparency on the LLM Model used, and the vague use of complexity based 'AI Credits' means Atlassian is just going the same as Cursor, Anthropic et al..

I love this product. However, lately I have been getting a "unexpected error occurred, exiting" message when I try to run the cli. I have tried different terminals but none works. How can I resolve this issue? Thanks

Just got lured in to start testing it to now "learn" (by accident) I can go straight back and stop investing an single more minute. Guys, such changes should appear for users signing-up the moment you made such a decision.

How you expect people investing time t test/play and share feedback when you treat them that way?

Enjoy - found 5 major CX of which 2 involve potential threats that won't get caught without massive overhead for additional monitoriting and reporting - within the first minutes of using it.

You gotta find them out yourselve. I am fed up with SaaS. Open Source remains the only way to actualy get not treated like an idiot.

The pricing page has no mention about Rovo Dev CLI, which us quite confusing. Will you change the token limit for paid customer too?

I see so many tokes get wasted because of local tooling errors in search and replace of code. I've already created bug reports with examples, but it's not confirmed. I can only guess the huge costs caused by this. I also believe the system prompt, especially the enforced summary, is way too verbose and is also burning tokens for nothing measurable. Yes, it looks nice and cool for the first couple of times and when you want to show off the fancy world of AI to sales people, but later it's just annoying.
