GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus 4.7 now available on Rovo Dev Standard

Hi everyone!

We’re excited to share that GPT-5.5 is available for Atlassian customers on Rovo Dev Standard, immediately after release. And in case you missed it, we’ve also announced Claude Opus 4.7 availability with a limited time promotion. You can start exploring the capabilities of both models right away within Rovo Dev CLI, paired with the context of your existing work from across the Atlassian ecosystem.

New model availability —

  • GPT-5.5 is now available in Rovo Dev CLI and IDE.

  • Claude Opus 4.7 limited time promotion — until April 30, 2026, existing Atlassian customers with a Rovo Dev Standard plan can access Claude Opus 4.7 at half the credit cost (1x Rovo Dev credit multiplier instead of 2x).

How to get started

Use the /models slash command to switch between available AI models in Rovo Dev CLI & IDE. For finer grained control over effort level, set the efficiency level with /efficiency [level](e.g. /efficiency high).

Switching between models and efficiency levels is quick, even in the middle of an active session:

Please note that access to frontier models via Rovo Dev is only available to customers on Rovo Dev Standard. In addition, customers on newly created Atlassian organizations may experience limited access to new models.

🚀 Shape what’s next for Rovo Dev

As we’re working on the roadmap for Rovo Dev, we’d love to hear what’s top of mind for you! To raise feedback in Rovo Dev, use /feedback directly in the terminal and IDE to let us know what you think.

I recently discovered Rovodev AI and was particularly impressed by the available model selection. Currently, I am using the standard free trial, which allows access to the Haiku and Flash models.

I attempted to implement one of the paid models for testing purposes; however, I received a message indicating that my account will only gain access after one month. My intention was to evaluate the service more thoroughly by purchasing a smaller package—specifically, approximately 2000 tokens for $20—but it appears that this option is not available.

Could you please clarify whether this limitation is related to your fraud and misuse prevention policies, or if there are alternative ways to access paid models for short-term testing?

I would appreciate any guidance you can provide.
Best regards

@zacijenegorivajekrivv Hi there! Thanks for the note on model selection 🙏

We've recently updated our model availability policy to ensure the best experience for existing Atlassian customers. As part of that, we limited the premium models available to newly created Atlassian orgs. You can read more about it here
