Jira contains around 800 projects.we have to take back up of two projects.Is there any option.Deleting 800 projects is not possible.Also we tried to individually import to test instance but its failing with huge number of mapping errors.
You can only export the entire instance that will include all the 800 projects. Best thing to do is what you already have tried. i.e. import the 2 projects from the backup to a Test instance.
You will have to fix the mapping errors and should have all the configurations in place but that I guess would be easier than deleting close to 800 projects.
