Reverse Proxy - connect Jira via Citrix ADC (Netscaler)

Christoph March 9, 2020

Dear all,

we can connect to the login page but cannot login. In the internal network the login is working.

do you have perhaps a internal documentation how to setup via Citrix ADC (Netscaler) as a reverse proxy?

Hey Christoph,

To my knowledge, we don't have a document describing how to configure Netscaler as a reverse proxy for any Atlassian applications.

Externally, I did find a thread on the Netscaler forums where someone posted their configuration for Jira.

I generally help people configure nginx, Apache, or sometimes IIS in front of Jira. Our document for configuring nginx with Jira can provide some reference - particularly on the Jira side, the server.xml file will likely have the same configuration for netscaler as well as nginx.

Happy to look over your configuration though and see if anything jumps out! What would be helpful to see:

  1. Jira's server.xml file (particularly the connectors if you don't want to post the whole file)
  2. Your netscaler configuration for the Jira proxy
  3. Any errors you happen to see in both netscaler and Jira's application log, if applicable. You might not be getting anything helpful in the logs.

Thanks!
