I’m facing an issue with a user in Jira where in-app notifications have completely stopped working. The user does not receive any in-app notifications (no updates, no mentions, no assignments). However the email notifications are still working correctly.
I've checked user notification settings → in-app notifications are enabled.
Tried different browsers and incognito mode.
Issue is not project-specific
What could cause in-app notifications to completely stop?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
It might be that the user in the personal profile made changes to the personal email settings.
This is a user action, only the user itself can look and change these permissions.

That is very strange. I suggest you go ahead and open a support ticket with Atlassian for them to check.
