Hi, I have a question, I accidentally moved a subtask to the retired state is there a way to get it back to the in progress state?

I believe that you are referring to two statuses "retired" and "progress". You should have a transition from "retired" to "progress". If you do not have , project admin can create a transition, if that is not a shared workflow. If it is a shared workflow, kindly ask you jira-administrator to create a backward transition. You can then move the issue.
