Hello All,
I am trying to find out option to Bulk Assign defects to individual Reporters.
I am facing this challenge every time we deploy the fixes and wanted to assign all the defects to the respective individual testers.
Since the number of issues are very high 100-200 wanted to know if there is any option where I can select all the defects in Bulk edit and assign to a function which automatically assigns it to respective testers.
Hi @Lalit Pawar,
if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this would be easy to do using the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also support bulk editing via copy/paste; with this, you should be able make your changes with just a couple of clicks, like so:
You can update any number of issues in one action, so you should be done with your task in no time! (It's worth noting that JXL can do much more than that: From support for configurable issue hierarchies, to issue grouping, sum-ups, or conditional formatting.)
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes

Hello @Lalit Pawar ,
I hope you are doing well!!
Yes, this functionality of bulk edit is available out the box. You may please have a look at Atlassian official documentation on Bulk change.
Note: You need to have the relevant permission in your project such as Edit Issue and Modify reporter and Bulk Change Global Permission (You might need to reach out to Jira Admin for this).

Mayur

@Mayur Jadhav , Thanks for your reply.
I have the permission to bulk change assignee, but currently I can only assign alll these issues (bulk) to any one user (which I need to search from the dropdown).
But which will not solve my purpose, as I need automatic assignment of these bulk issues to the reporter
e.g.
Expected
Issue1 Reporter1 Assignee1 ===> Issue1 Reporter1 Reporter1
Issue2 Reporter2 Assignee2 ===> Issue2 Reporter2 Reporter2
and so on
.
IssueX ReporterX AssigneeX ===> IssueX ReporterX ReporterX
