Assets objects of a certain object type not being returned when setting field in Automation for Jira

Hi,

I am trying to set an Assets customer field 'Client' when creating an issue using Automation for Jira.

I add the field as a field to set and when enter the name of the object it does not appear for this particular object type. Other objects are returned which have the same name (but are of different object types)? Is there a setting in assets etc. that I should be aware of?

It is inconvenient that Automation for Jira does not already filter the correct objects for the Assets custom field but I am ok with this. I just can't understand why these Client objects are not being returned.

Can you post a screenshot of your automation please?

I would have double checked if the configuration of the asset field to check that it isn't filtered and preventing you from fetching the client object you're after in the automation

Please provide the query you used for object lookup. Also please provide the screenshot of the automation.

Thanks for your response, I am not using a query, just typing in the name of the object (see attached Fig1).

In Fig2 you can see the object that is not being returned.

In Fig3 you can see the custom field config for the RC Client field, however I know that this works correctly as I can select the object I want from issues just not in this automation set up.

How is the value is bring set into Client Name? Is there an automation to do, if not there has to be an automation to set that value.

@Vijay Dadi The value wants to always be the same Client, I just want to select a static value for the RC Client field but the one I want to select is not available.

If "RC client" is your asset field and you use the edit issue action I think you need to input an properly formatted Asset query in the field value not just the name of the object.

I would have tried NAME IN "Demo Client" for example, or Key IN ITNEBEM-2026 if you want the automation to always choose one particular object.

Entering a query is not allowed for this option, it is only for selecting an Assets object from the list. You have to type into the box and it returns matches based on the label of the object. Not sure why the objects I want are not being returned but I have raised with Atlassian support and will report back here when I have a resolution.
