The JPD documentation states "You must have at least one date field configured to create a timeline." Yet I can't create a timeline view with one date field. In the finish date my one date field is grayed out because it is already selected for the start date.

Thank you for the feedback. I agree the wording could be better, and might need to be adjusted. I'll share this with our team!
As you have discovered, it is required a date-field is selected for both timeline view's Start date field and Target date field in order for the view to become editable.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. The documentation should now be updated and better reflect the actual experience.
