Autocomplete data in a field via database.

Question

It is possible to somehow make a Jira field connect to an external database and have the function of auto-completing and showing the options existing in the database.

This is in Jira Cloud.

I think it's possible to have Jira fields connected to external data sources, via marketplace apps for exemple. However, this forum is about Jira Product Discovery , a different product, in which it isn't possible.

I don't think so. Because in order to see the option from another DB you need to make Jira talk to the DB which out of the box I don't think it is available.

If you don't mind me asking what are you trying to achieve?

Is the DB connected to another application from where you can get the data you are looking for?
