Looking to Sync Workday Hierachy to Jira - Tempo Teams - UN's to Atlassian ID sync issues

We want to sync Tempo Teams to the team hierarchy in Workday - Has anyone done this? Any thoughts on the best practices model for this kind of sync where one system that uses usernames (WD) - to the Atlassian Cloud that does uses Atlassian ID's and does not recognize UN's? We are using Azure AD sync..
