For years now, Atlassian has presented organization users (members of a claimed domain) who do not have access to Jira or Confluence with a rather abrupt message:
Well, as of July 9, 2026 (thanks @__ Jimi Wikman for blogging it here), you can now customize that message and include a link to a proper Help Desk request or other mechanism to request access:
This new feature is called Create custom notes when users request access to apps but in the Atlassian Admin hub, under Apps > App access settings, the option is labelled "Create access message".
It looks like this:
This is a GREAT improvement and gives administrators a way to properly manage access requests to Atlassian tools.
