Fisheye Crucible and multifactor authentication

Hello

We've got a Jira Cloud subscription but I'm also running Fisheye+Crucible in AWS.  My understanding is that it is not possible to use Jira Cloud for authentication of users into Crucible, so I must provision users in Crucible separately from Jira.

One challenge is that I have our Crucible hosted on the internet because I want it to have an application link to Jira Cloud.

Is it then possible to enable multifactor in Crucible so that we can authenticate users there because I must host it on the internet?  I'd prefer that for security.

Hey Matt,

As you've mentioned, it isn't currently possible to use Jira Cloud as the identity provider for the Server versions of our products.

What I'd suggest in this case is determining if you have an identity provider (IdP) available somewhere like ADFS, Okta, Bitium, etc that support SAML. There are several SAML plugins for Fisheye available on the Atlassian Marketplace. Using a SAML plugin, user authentication for Fisheye would happen through your SAML IdP. The IdP would then enforce any multi-factor authentication policies you want to set up.

As an added benefit of using a SAML provider with MFA, you can also get single-sign-on with any other applications using that SAML identity provider. Hope that helps point you in a good direction!
