Plan for JDK 11 support in the Plugin SDK?

Wondering if there's an update yet on supporting JDK 11 in the Plugin SDK, i.e. for compiling plugins.  JDK 17 has been released, and JDK 8 goes out of active support at the end of March 2022, but we're still required to use 8 for compiling plugins...what's the plan?

This seems to be one of those things I shouldn't have to ask about, but here we are...

Pinging to bump the question...any progress here?  Compiling plugins with JDK 8 in 2023 seems strange.
