How do you connect information from many Confluence pages together on a dashboard type page.

I have multiple Confluence pages containing formation on products. One product per page. On the page are responses to reviews about the product, and the reviews are marked as either critical, advanced, non critical, or not applicable. I want to create a separate page to collate all the responses and produce graphs. How do you connect information from multiple Confluence pages and add up all the different responses for all products on a dashboard type page with analysis of the results in graphical form.

The version is 8.9 and I have tried using the Excerpt and Multi Excerpt macros to no avail.

What are my options.

Thank you.

Hi @J Harding , welcome to the community!

Your question caught my eye. I'm on the Kolekti team (we make Confluence apps), and we've helped a lot of users solve similar challenges.

Here's my experience on things you could try using Confluence Macros (can be limiting):

  • Excerpt Include: I've used this before, but getting it to aggregate data for graphs from multiple pages can be a real headache.
  • Chart Macro: The built-in Chart macro is pretty basic. You'd have to manually input the data from your product pages, which isn't ideal.

So, honestly, the built-in Confluence macros might be a bit clunky for what you're trying to do. Here are some other optiions I'd suggest:

  • Forms for Confluence (That's one of ours!): If you're already using forms for those product reviews, this app would be perfect. It can automatically visualise your form data in charts and dashboards.
  • Other dedicated reporting apps: There are some really powerful reporting apps on the Atlassian Marketplace that can pull data from your Confluence pages and generate much more advanced reports than the built-in tools.
  • Guided Pathways (Another Kolekti App!): This app could be a great fit too! You could use it to create interactive product onboarding guides (in which you could have that form mentioned earlier too) or build a central guide that pulls in content from all your product pages to create a single report.

Hope that helps! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about Forms or Guided Pathways.
