HTML macro and images in the HTML file

Question

I am still evaluating Confluence to upload HTML files. I now have html files that are static--but they have a lot of images (with the path). When I use the macro HTML, I cannot see the image files. I was wondering how to include the images within the HTML page in such a case. The images are present in the page as attachment, but not picked up by the HTML code. For example, if the link says  common imagename.png, how does the HTML macro handle it. I am not sure if you even support this HTML macro.

You need to use the HTML Include macro to display an HTML page, and if your images are referenced through relative addressing, you need to convert them to absolute addresses.  (I've tried using a <base> statement in the file, but Confluence appears to ignore it.)  I don't believe you can access images attached to a Confluence page -- at least I've never heard of anyone doing that -- they need to be accessed via a URL within the HTML page.
