Difference between AWS lambda proxy and AWS lambda?

I am new to AWS. I realize it could a very layman question. in any case, I am attempting to pass and acknowledge the parameters in AWS lambda intermediary. I had the capacity to do it in AWS lambda utilizing body mapping format, Is there any manner by which I can get the query string we map in AWS lambda in Lambda intermediary
