Can multiple people edit an attachment file at the same time?

Does confluence support multiple people editing at the same time in a attached file? For example myself and my colleague want to both work together at the same time in an attached excel file that is attached on a confluence page. 

If there is a permissions sequence for enabling this behavior, please share.

@Jessica Lindstrom Multiple individuals could edit an attachment at the same time but the last individual to save their edits will overwrite whatever the other individual saved.  There would be a version for each edit but there is no way to collaboratively edit an attachment in the delivered product.
