Hello,
I want to add a ssh-key to a user in Stash but I'm not allowed to do that. This message is shown in the profile screen of stash: "You cannot edit your display name, password or email address as they are stored in a read-only user directory."
Has anyone an idea?
Rolf
This message merely indicates that the user details can not be modified, since the user most likely comes from LDAP, Crowd or JIRA.
However, when clicking the SSH tab, you should still be able to add a key for the user.
You can find more details in the documentation:

Hi Jens,
unfortunatly I saw your answer just now.
Fact is, that I have no ssh-tab. The documentation shows no solution for that problem.

Hi Rolf,
That probably means that you're either running an older version of Stash (SSH support was added in 1.1) or that your system administrator has disabled the SSH server that is bundled with Stash.

Please refer to https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/STASH/Enabling+SSH+access+to+Git+repositories+in+Stash to ensure the SSH Server is running correctly. If you still have problems I would suggest raising a support ticket at https://support.atlassian.com
