Upcoming removal of email-based commenting

Dear Bitbucket Community,

We're planning to remove a low-usage feature (email-based commenting) from Bitbucket Cloud. Please read on for details.

What's changing

Starting March 1, Bitbucket will be removing the ability to comment on a pull request by replying to a notification email. As of that date, pull request notification emails will no longer contain the text "Add a comment by replying to this email".

Why we're making this change

Email-based commenting has historically had extremely low usage, and we've made the decision to eliminate it in order to reduce our maintenance cost.

What you need to do

If you've been using the reply-by-email functionality, you should switch to using Bitbucket's web UI for pull request commenting. You can also add comments via the REST API.
