Planning Ahead: Data Center End of Life & draw.io Migration Options

Hey everyone, MJ here!

As you probably already know, Atlassian has announced the end of life for Data Center. Here are the key dates to keep in mind:

  • 🗓️ March 30, 2026 → New license sales stop for new customers

  • 🗓️ March 30, 2028 → New license sales stop for existing customers

  • 🗓️ March 30, 2029 → Last day of Data Center support

We know change can feel big, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Atlassian will be reaching out to help with planning, and we at draw.io want to make sure your move is as smooth as possible.

What this means for draw.io users in Confluence and Jira:

  • You’ll find Cloud equivalents for Data Center apps → Whether you need Standard Cloud with AI-generated diagrams and live collaboration; Advanced Cloud with premium support, custom security reviews, and a zero egress switch; or full protection with our dedicated Zero Egress app, draw.io’s got you covered.

  • Security & compliance are front and center: data residency, governance, and our Cloud Fortified + Runs on Atlassian badges

  • We provide parity docs and migration guides so you know exactly what to expect, no surprises

  • Support continues through your existing contracts slightly smiling face

Migration support programs make it easier:

  • Under 1,000 users → self-service tools

  • 1,000–5,000 users → Atlassian’s complimentary FastShift Program (faster migrations!)

  • 5,000+ users → Solution Design Acceleration for the most complex use cases

At the end of the day, we want to make sure you and your teams can keep collaborating on diagrams confidently in the cloud, with even stronger compliance and trust signals than before.

Check out our migration resources here.

And of course, if you have questions, drop them below or visit our support desk, we'd love to hear from you and help however we can!

— MJ and the draw.io Team
