card deleting

Regarding any potentially planned updates, can there be a "delete" button included in the fly menu of individual cards, and a bulk delete function for lists? Having to open each card and scroll to the Card Delete button is time consuming, especially when you want to delete multiple cards at once. Archiving cards and deleting them from the archive isn't much of a time saver either, and still has to be done one card at a time. The only bulk delete function I've found is 3rd party and charges a fee. I'm already paying a subscription fee for Trello; I dont think it should cost more for a simple function like delete. This is the ONE thing that makes Trello a bit annoying to use and I've begun to use other project managers simply because task maintenance is so much easier.

Hi @Krissy Lee

I think Trello can't win here, if they made it easier to delete cards, they would have complaints that people have accidentally deleted stuff and once it is deleted it is not recoverable.

Can I ask why archiving isn't sufficient?

There are some options to make archiving simpler:

  • You can create automations for bulk archive by a board button
  • You can create a an automation button on the card to archive, which will be visible without scroll
  • You can quickly archive cards by hovering the curser over the card and hitting the C key
  • You could use butler rules auto archive
  • If you use the archive feature within that particular board and thus want to keep it clean and relevant, you could use automation to move cards to an "Archive" board.

I'm currently using the 3rd and 5th options, guess I'll stick with that. Thank you!

I use a power-up by Kolekti called Card Delete. It takes two clicks to fully delete, which serves as protection from accidental deletion.

I use that as well, but I wish there was a way to easily delete cards from the fly menu instead of having to open each card, and to be able to delete multiple cards at once. I was using a 3rd party app for multiple deletes, but of course now that has a fee attached and it will only let you select so many at a time anyway.
