We have made a board, that we want to share with others. we want them not to be a member of the team, but we want to send them the link so they are able to make a copy of the board.
We also want to protect the template board, so the 'visitors' can not accidentally edit the template.
The board should only be visible for team members and visitors.

How do we set this up? We have tried several options, but didn't succeed in protecting the board.

Thanks for your reaction.

Today I discovered that I can invite people as member (guest) and as spectator in the Business Class membership. I think that viewer/spectator is what we need.

What people can see is unrelated to their membership status as a paid member.

If they are added to the team they are billable and they are a Team Member.
If they are added directly to the board they are a Guest and whether they are billable or not depends on how many boards they are a Guest.

Any member of a board (a Team Member or a Guest) can be an Observer. This just limits what they can do on that board but does not have anything to do with whether they are billable or not.

I don't think you can do this given the constraints you set out.

You could make the template public, but that violates "The board should only be visible for team members and visitors."

You could add them to the team, and make the template "team visible", but that violates " we want them not to be a member of the team".

You could add them to the template but that violates "We also want to protect the template board, so the 'visitors' can not accidentally edit the template. ".

One of those things has to change - i.e. you have to pay for the user, or make it public, or trust them not to mess up the template.
