This doesn't seem like that unusual of a use case, but maybe I'm wrong...
I have a task (really more of a project) that started out as a card and has grown beyond my initial expectations, so I want to turn it into a board. My progress over the past few months is documented in a bunch of comments. I value the information in these comments but each really represents a task in its own right, so I'd really (generally) like to make each of these comments its own card.
Since comments on a card can be edited or deleted, the most obvious solution to me seemed to be to make a new board, make multiple copies of the original card (one for each task) including the comments, and then delete from each copy all but one comment until I had one card for each comment.
The problem I've run into is that I can't change or delete anything from any of the copies. It's almost as if the copies are linked back to the original, however I've tested making a copy and then modifying the original and the changes to the original do not reflect in the copy.
Can anyone advise as to whether this is expected behavior, or if it can be changed? Or have any advice for alternative ways to do what I'm trying to do? Thanks.
@aizzo you might be better off creating a comment for each card. Here's a code snippet that would do it:
You can run it in BenkoBot here:
Just update the card link and your target board name.
