How to get original Description with Markdown?

The fancy dancy Description field doesn't work for me.  

I prefer the former Description Field with the ability to do markdown for bold, links, etc.

How can I revert my Trello back to that original Description Field?

In its raw form it is still in markdown text. It is rendered on the editor. Eg if I were to use it with my Taco Mail app I that to treat it as markdown text and convert to html before I mail out. What is the issue you are facing?
