I would like to access a certain card from two different boards. Is there a way to do that? What I have in mind is creating a card in board 1 and then copy a link of that card into board 2. Another option would be to create a separate card in each board and link them together. That way if I would make changes to the card from either board it would be reflected in both places. Thanks a lot.
You can link/connect and access cards from two different boards by using the Trello attachment. On Board A, open the card you'd like to link and select Attachment » Trello » the card or board you'd like to attach it to. It'll then attach the card, and you can click on it to view that card on Board B.
However, I think you can't make changes to card A (e.g. add a due date, leave a comment, attach a file) and expect to see the same changes in card B. They function independently from one another. Let me know if this is what you meant, or if you had an entirely different scenario in mind. 🙂
Hi Stephanie, thanks a lot for your response. I tried that but I am not able to see that card from board B. Some of my projects overlap, which means that one card could be part of two different projects. I would want to be able to access that card from either board and make changes to it. Thanks.
Oh! I completely forgot to add that you'll need to click 'Connect cards...' to establish their relationship. When you do this, you'll be able to see both cards on both boards as attachments. See the screenshot below:
Let me know if this is what you're looking to achieve with linking cards together. If not, it may be something you can share with the Trello team as a feature request. 🙂
If you had to thrive a new habit during a lockdown, what would it be? Trello
