My organization has two separately billed Workspaces. We have users in each Workspace that we would like to invite to the other Workspace as a guest or Observer instead of a paid member/user. We do not seem to be able to do this, and I am wondering if that is because our Workspaces are somehow linked because they are tied to the same organization. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi @Kathleen Peets

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

Are either of your Workspaces premium or enterprise-level workspaces? This might explain why you're not able to invite teammates from one Workspace to the next as guests/observers.

Quick reminder:

  • Guests are normal members of a board. They are not a member of the team that the board belongs to.
  • Observers are members with read-only access to a board.

You might be right about your Workspaces being linked and preventing you from inviting guests/ observers. However, the only way to know this for sure is to contact Trello.

Try reaching out to Trello to see if they can combine your bill instead of billing you for two separate workspaces. You can create a Trello ticket here: https://trello.com/contact#/

In the meantime, this Trello support article on multi-board guests explains why you'll see an extra cost: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/multi-board-guests/

I hope this helps,

Michael
