Create Card Template?

Question

I created a card template and once completed, I copied it so I could create a second card template with some changes to it.  However, when I make changes to either template, both templates are changed at the same time.

How do I create (copy) the original card template so that I can create a new one and it is not linked/makes changes to the original?

In short I want to have two independent templates that won't change when I edit one of them.

Templates are just cards from which you can create new cards. Copies of it or any card do not sync with each other. When you copy a card you know the source card where you can do some automation and ongoing sync is not part of it.
