Copying Commands

Indiana Trane March 17, 2020

Noob Question.

I'm relatively new to Butler and am seeing many commands which I felt helpful.  My only problem is knowing what to do with copying the commands.

For instance, I see one that says "count the cards in this board"  For easy copying.

But what/where do I put just this command?

Hi @Indiana Trane

Welcome to the Community!

Ian is right, the command you're looking at is for the old version of Butler.

You might find it helpful to look at the page on Butler variables to see what Butler is capable of. There are a few of us in the community who use Butler a lot (including me), so if you want to do something specific, we can probably help!

If you want a card counter, there are a number of card counters if you use Chrome:

Hope this is helpful :)

@Indiana Trane what you're looking at is the old Butler Bot command examples. the new Butler that has been acquired by Trello and was initially a power up and has since become a standard feature uses a point-n-click command builder into which you can't paste command strings. You have to use the interface to construct the command.

Also it lacks much of the functionality that the bot version had. If you run into limitations, you can check out this Google Apps Script framework I wrote that does many of the same things Butler Bot did (albeit using code rather than the friendlier command interface that the Butler Bot had):
