Can I create my own custom API integration with Hubspot?

I want to have an integration between my Hubspot and Trello, however I don't want to pay for services such as Zapier. I have a team team who can create api's I'm just wondering if its possible for me to create it. I want to be able to move information from Hubspot to Trello once a deal has been completed, and the project then starts. as in details create a Trello card.

@Andrew_Singh I am interested in an integration between HubSpot and Trello as well. I want to use it for our onboarding of new clients and our support tickets.  Have you had success with the suggestion @Iain Dooley provided you?
