Filter does not accept input first time

When I hit the Filter-button (or press F) it does not automatically accept input in the Keyword field. I have to press the field and then enter keywords. The strange thing is this is only the case the first time i want to filter. Because when I then close the filter menu and open it up again it goes straight into the field, letting me enter keywords. Is this the case for others as well?

This is expected behaviour. Pressing 'F' or clicking 'Filter' opens the Filtering tab but gives you the choice of what you want to filter, e.g. click a label, filter by dates, or search a term as you'd like to do. Making users skip straight to typing would be a poor user experience for when you want to Filter by labels, due dates, etc.
