Filter stories tasks and subtasks related to an epic in board and timeline view OR expand epics

Hi 

Is it possible to filter stories, tasks and sub-tasks by related epic in timeline view and board? 
An alternative that would also work would be to be able to expand epics in timeline. This works for tasks and sub-tasks now, and works for epics in List - not sure why I cant do this for epics in timeline.
