For email subscribers, can I use team email aliases instead of individual email addresses?

Hi there,

If I want to subscribe my team to email notifications, is it possible to use our team alias (ex: team-name@company.com) instead of having every individual on my team subscribe with their own email address?

We've tried this with a couple of teams, but I keep getting reports that they're not receiving any notification emails.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Karam,

This is Jesse from the Statuspage support team. Welcome to the community, and thanks for the question about using email aliases. While it is technically supported, it can cause problems like the one you're reporting. One common issue is that anyone can unsubscribe the subscriber or report it as spam, which will go up the chain and quarantine the subscriber. It's not a recommended path.

We have tools like the import feature and the API to go through lists of subscribers if the issue is around trying to actually bring in a lot of subscribers. I would give that a shot if you're able to.

If you're having issues with deliverability when not using a list, please feel free to submit a ticket and we can look at the specific subscriber.

Regards,
Jesse
