Thanks for reaching out to the community with your question about adding components. The components themselves don't trigger notifications. Only Incidents with affected components will trigger notifications to be sent to subscribers. You can see the event triggers here: https://support.atlassian.com/statuspage/docs/notification-event-triggers/
You can add your own components in addition to third-party components, but these won't change status unless you do that yourself.
